Chapter Seventeen: Selvadorada, Swordfighting, and the Starlight Accolades

Image
On Thursday morning, we headed off on a trip to Selvadorada for a couple of nights. The weather was very warm, and I hoped the villa would have decent air con. Lush vegetation was all around, so different from San Myshuno. Peter and I felt the children were mature enough to look after themselves for a while, so we went off to do some temple exploring. We'd been left a package of adventuring supplies at the villa, and Peter took it upon himself to clear the archway. After a good deal of walking, we came across the Omiscan temple. It was large and impressive.  "Right, let's go find some treasure!" Peter grinned.  As we walked towards the entrance, he started humming the Simdiana Jones theme... The temple was full of traps, and I set out trying to figure out how to disarm them. The interior was dark and cool after the heat of outside, which I appreciated. After a while, we realised that it was later than we thought, so we headed back to the villa. There, we discovered ...

Chapter Sixteen: Fame Ascending

My children have a right to not be disturbed. If you don't leave right now I'm calling the police." "Fine," she said sulkily, like a small child. She pressed the button next to the lift and was soon ...

Chapter Fifteen: A New Friend

Narrated by Artemis Masterson Spring was here, and Apollo and I were going to school now with Erytheia and Xanthe (although they were a couple of years above us). I hadn't found a friend yet, but I wasn't too bothered. A lot of the other kids found it funny that Apollo and I were twins, particularly when they realised that I enjoyed reading and playing chess as opposed to playing sports like Apollo.  One afternoon, after lunch, I went into the playground and noticed a girl I hadn't seen before. She was wearing a pale pink crop top and a pink wrapped skirt. "Hello, are you new?" I asked. "Yes," she said. "I'm Malia, by the way." "Oh cool, I'm Artemis," I replied. "I love your outfit." "Thank you!" she smiled. "I'm from Sulani, it's native clothing there." "Ooh, I've only been to Sulani once," I said. "It must be so much fun living near the ocean." "It is,...
