Chapter Eight: Rising Star

Image
Narrated by Caroline Masterson I arrived on set for ZBB: Apocalypse Rising and was impressed by the way it had been dressed. It definitely looked apocalyptic, and I mentally praised the set dressers. I was given an interestingly curly Mohican and funky red costume before going to practise my lines. The first scene was a fight with one of my co-stars. Unfortunately, it went very wrong... as soon as I went in for a kick, I slipped and fell on my arse! I started laughing immediately as did the crew and my co-star. I did feel rather embarrassed as I stood up, however - how would it be dealt with in editing? Would I be called for a reshoot, or would they keep it in for a comic moment? I then had to pretend to "die" in what appeared to be a disused library that was now being used as a campsite. I hoped it was convincing; it was all too easy to be overly dramatic when it came to a death scene. That day also happened to be New Year's Eve. When I got home - the shoot having been...

Chapter Seven: Winterfest

Image
On Tuesday morning, I left the twins asleep whilst I went to make some breakfast. Erytheia came to join me. "Hey lovely!" I said. "Do you like being a big sister?" "Yeah! The babies are cute!" she smiled. "They are, aren't they?" I replied. "You and Xanthe can be great role models for them." "Huh?" "Role model. It means that when you behave like a good girl, they will watch you and hopefully do the same." I wasn't sure if I'd explained it properly, but it was a decent explanation for a toddler I thought. After breakfast, I went to the bedroom to brush up on my charisma. The babies were awake but quiet, so I was keeping an ear out for any noise they might make. I had recently switched to a new acting agency, and they were understanding about me having young children.  After a little while, Artemis started crying, so I went over to attend to her. To be honest, I was relieved; I always felt rather silly ta...

Chapter Six: We Went For More.

Image
Narrated by Caroline Masterson My latest gig was "Critters of the Mauven Forest", for which I needed to build my guitar skill. So, while Peter was at work, I grabbed his guitar and began strumming away. I sounded pretty dreadful at first, so I was grateful that there was nobody to overhear my playing. The twins were too busy playing in their bedroom. When Peter came home from work, we had a chat in the bedroom. "So, should we have more children?" he asked. "I don't see why not," I replied. "We're doing well with our careers, plus you're gaining extra income by selling your dragon fruits. I'd be a little worried about space, but with a little more saving we can buy somewhere bigger." "I wouldn't want to leave San Myshuno though. I love it here," he said. "Yes, as do I. Perhaps we could look into one of those penthouses. The one in Torendi Tower even has a bit of garden space. It's not huge, but it's som...

Chapter Five: A Busy Week!

Image
Narrated by Caroline Masterson Tuesday was Spooky Day, which I'd always enjoyed as a child. Peter and I had decided to throw a party, although the only real guest was Salim. I dressed in a blue fairy costume and got to work making "cheese eyeballs", being careful not to get any cheese or dough on my outfit.  I heard a knock at the front door, and noticed a trick-or-treater outside. "Trick or treat!" came a voice, muffled by the pumpkin helmet. "Ooh, you look very scary," I grinned. "Here's something for you!" I added, handing the child a packet of Haribo. "Thank you very much!" the child replied politely.  As the party got properly underway, with Peter and I dancing in the living area, I could hear Erytheia and Xanthe chatting away happily to Salim, who'd come dressed as Luke Skywalker. The girls seemed to love their costumes; there was a certain amusement in a toddler Spellcaster wearing a witch costume, and Xanthe looked...

Chapter Four: Do We Want More?

Image
Narrated by Caroline Masterson I had a new gig coming up, appearing on an episode of "Wild Flames". It required me to practise my flirting skills, and of course I had a VERY willing practice partner... "Whoa! This is a bit drastic!" Peter exclaimed, eyes wide. "Relax, I've got you," I smiled. "You'll be fine." "You should take these kinds of gigs more often," he grinned as he straightened up. "We are married," I laughed. "We can kiss - and more - any time we like." Later, I sat on one of the living room sofas as the girls danced to the music. "Are you having fun?" I asked. "Yeah! Dance time!" Erytheia grinned. Xanthe also nodded enthusiastically. They were so cute, and I felt a little broody as I watched them having fun. As only children, Peter and I had both wanted a fairly large family. Having twins straight away had been a bit of a surprise, and a definite plunge into the deep end of ...
